Forrest James “Jim” Robinson, Jr. is a business litigation partner in the law firm of Hite, Fanning & Honeyman, L.L.P. He received degrees from Southwestern College (1980) and the University of Kansas School of Law (1983).

He has held leadership positions in Wichita Bar Association (Board of Governors, 2010-2012; Chair, Legislative Committee, 2008-2014; Past Chair, Professionalism Committee; Past Chair, Professional Diversity Committee), Kansas Bar Association (Chair, Legislative Committee, 2014-present), Kansas Association of Defense Counsel (President, 2011; Board of Directors, 2004-2015; Chair, Legislative Committee, 2006-2014); and Defense Research Institute (DRI) (Kansas State Representative, 2012-2015; Judicial Task Force 2015-present).

He serves as Chair of the Steering Committee of Kansans for Fair Courts and as  a member of the Executive Committee of the Lawyer’s Committee of the National Center for State Courts in D.C. and of the National Advisory Committee of the National Association of Women Judge’s “Informed Voter’s—Fair Judges” Project.

He served on the Board of Directors of United Methodist Youthville, Inc. (1985-2006) and as Board Chair (1990-1991; 2002-2003).

He has received Distinguished Service Awards from KBA (2014), Kansas Association for Justice (2013) and KADC (2007), two President’s Awards from WBA (2009, 2014), State Leadership Award from DRI (2015) and three awards from KADC for legislative advocacy (2006, 2009, 2013). In 2015, he received from DRI the Kevin Driscoll Outstanding State Representative Award. In 2002, he received from Child Welfare League of America the National Award for Board Leadership.  He is a member of the Social Sciences Hall of Fame at Southwestern College.

Jim is married to Jennifer Robinson and they have three children.
