Gerontologist and Medical Exercise Specialist Nathan Engels (Coach Nate) is a Wichitan to his core. He graduated from Northwest High School in 2002, and began his collegiate career at Wichita State University the same year. After one year of taking classes full time, Nate decided to postpone college to forgo his dream of being a rockstar. Despite a seven year hiatus touring the country as a professional musician while living in Nashville, Knoxville, and eventually DC, he returned home in 2011 to finish his schooling. He graduated Suma Cum Laude and the top in his class in 2013, earning a degree in Exercise Science before completing his Master's degree in Aging Studies and Public Health Sciences in 2016. In graduate school, Nate was awarded the O'Blenness Graduate Student Fellowship, named Graduate Student Marshall, and won Graduate Student of the Year (2016) in the department of Public Health Sciences.

Coach Nate found his love for teaching adults the art of AGE YOUNG exercise while getting his BS in Exercise Science. "Many Exercise Scientists want to work with athletes, or younger, less restricted individuals, but I found the most satisfying training population is adults over 50 because they aren't looking at fitness from an aesthetic point of view, but as a means to help them age well and stay functional throughout the remainder of their lifespan." As the owner of Wellness League, Nate works tirelessly to bring hope and inspire greatness through the healing power of movement.
