Ron moved to Wichita in 1968 as Chief Pilot for Jack DeBoer Associates Inc., a start up apartment developer that expanded operations throughout the United States.  The flight department consisted of a single Cessna 310, then a Cessna 210 and then a Lear 24B.  In 1972 they began a Part 135 Jet Charter Service.

In 1974 Ron and George Ablah, a Wichita based real estate developer, formed a partnership in Ryan Aviation Corporation and had an FBO at the Wichita Airport.

In 1980 Ryan obtained a FAA Part 121 Certificate and started flying large transport category aircraft and changed the name to Ryan International Airlines.

In 1986 Ryan sold his company to PHH Group, Inc., a New York Stock Exchange company and two years later bought back the company as well as the FBO.

Ryan flew planes for many corporations including Emery, UPS, US Postal Service, Apple Vacations, Air Tran, etc.

Ron has over 20,000 flight hours and has flow numerous types of corporate and commercial aircraft.

Ryan companies expanded from three employees in 1972 to over 1,500 employees with sales exceeding $200,000,000. 

Ryan International Airlines has since sold to Rubloff of Rockford, Ill. 

This has freed Ron and his wife Renae, to pursue other investment ventures as well as help non-profit charities and ministries and take time to stop and smell the roses.
