USD 259 Career and Technical Education Program

Jim Means is the Executive Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE) for the Wichita Public Schools.  In that capacity, Jim oversees 25 CTE pathways delivered in the district’s middle and high schools.  With 37 years of experience as an educator, he has served as classroom teacher, assistant principal, principal, college administrator, and now CTE leader.    During his tenure as CTE director, the Wichita Public Schools implemented the new pathways model, and helped the Kansas State Department of Education create several new career pathway programs.
